Folks, I'm afraid there's some bad news today: our teammate Peter was killed in a tragic climbing accident this weekend. Peter was a cherished and esteemed professional colleague and teammate with whom I collaborated on many IT projects since 2000. On Saturday, he transitioned to the heavenly realms, tragically, after losing his footing on a sheet of ice on a hiking trail at the top of Mt. Baldy near San Bernadino, CA, and falling an estimated 1500 ft into a ravine. He leaves behind 2 children, a 3 year old daughter and 13 year old son, and his significant other.

Peter was bright, witty, patient, and charming in his interactions with teammates and clients. I am grateful to Peter for the generous time he spent with me sharing his vast technical wealth and deeply admire the fact that he never coveted or guarded his engineering know-how. Still processing fact of his death I am comforted knowing that Peter loved life to the bone and lived adventurously, passionately and in the now. Despite his premature and tragic passing - he was 45 years young - I know that he transitioned while engaged in an activity closest to his heart, mountain climbing. I will treasure my fond memories of Peter.

RIP
