There will a ceremony to remeber the victims of the Shoa on Sun 14
Yom Hashoah Commemoration (02:00 PM - 03:30 PM) at Faneuil Hall.

Nazi are planning protest for this day.
Please, read bellow. And join rememberance ceremony.

Dear All,

I have just received the startling news that Nazi protesters are planning to demonstrate at this year’s Yom HaShoah commemoration for the second consecutive year. Boston police have alerted us to the fact that their surveillance of pro-Nazi websites and group communication has led them to believe that a Nazi presence outside of Faneuil Hall at the commemoration is to be expected. Security levels will be increased, and guests will not encounter any physical danger.

Our paramount concern at this point is that we do not allow their presence to interfere with the solemn and dignified nature of the commemoration. We have put a great deal of work into making this event a meaningful environment for commemorating the Holocaust and we do not want to detract from that. This commemoration is an opportunity for the Jewish community to band together in solidarity to remember those individuals lost in the Holocaust, and we must present a unified front. In order to ensure that we maintain this unity, we will be asking volunteers to form a “Circle of Memory” that will create a buffer zone between the Nazi protesters and the ceremony inside Faneuil Hall. The “Circle of Memory” volunteers will band together prior to the ceremony, from 1:00-2:00. Volunteers will hold up a sign with names of Holocaust survivors in silence. In this manner, we will ensure that an appropriate and communal demonstration occurs rather allow for the possibility of a loud and unorganized mob interacting with and drawing attention to the Nazi protesters. It is imperative that the counter-demonstration not feed the attention given to protestors or allow them a platform for media acknowledgement. Those who volunteer will have seats reserved for them at the ceremony, and will enter the building at 2:00 at the commencement of the ceremony.

We are looking for volunteers to commit to participating in this demonstration. Please reach out to your networks and urge them in the strongest language to participate. We need to organize quickly and mobilize as soon as possible. Those interested can contact me if they are interested in registering, or would like more information. In order to ensure that those volunteering understand what we are asking them to do, we are asking that all those wishing to participate register prior to the event.

If you have any questions or need more information, please contact me.

Best,
Deborah Donig
