Сводка с фронта
Feb. 2nd, 2011 01:11 pm2 часа тому пришел емейл от одного из чуваков моей команды, который живет в Мичигане
I live on Lake Shore Drive which borders on Lake Michigan. The wind speeds exceeded 60 mph. Loaded with snow, it was nearly impossible to walk.
Other forms of transport were even more problematic. At about 7:15 PM, I witnessed a serious of cascading accidents on Lake Shore Drive which lies in front of my building (@ 2800 Lake Shore Drive). Traffic stopped due to a city bus which blocked all lanes. 150 motorists were trapped in their cars or buses on the expressway from 7 PM to 7 AM this morning. Many were rescued at Midnight by firefighters, others slept in their vehicles and couldn't abandon them because the winds were treacherously strong.
The snow has finally let up and the winds have died down....23 inches.
