For a decade-and-half now, New England has been title country.

And the rest of America is sick of it — especially in regard to the Patriots. A Public Policy Polling survey released Tuesday shows that 53 percent of people are rooting for the Falcons to win Sunday, compared with 27 percent for the Patriots. In the same poll, the Patriots were cited as the NFL’s most hated team, receiving 21 percent of the vote. “People like to say that they want to be winners, right, but when a team consistently wins all the time, they hate on them. I think human beings are just inherently haters, I call myself a hater. I get asked all the time, ‘Why do you not like the Patriots?’ Uh, I don’t really have a reason. They just win a lot. I want to see somebody else win.’’

“I think more people are tired of seeing them win than there are people happy to see them win, if that makes sense. Also, they have a quarterback that looks like a model. That doesn’t help.’’
