В связи с опросом, уже не раз проведенным, но о котором почему-то сейчас вспомнил югозападник, обнаружил в лопатнике тридцать новых, почти неношенных "с хрустом" немецких марок.

Куда их можно девать? Их в банки принимают? А в немецкие банки? А если не принимают, то почему?

THAT you have to look up on the currency exchange tables. Local banks will only exchage the "active" currency that they have the exchange rates for. If not, you can ask them to give you a name of a local German bank. You are a customer, your bank should help you in these matters. Don't talk to tellers, go to a manager.

I don't need to look THAT up - entire Europe uses euro. That was the question - what to do with the "dead" currency?

They use euro, but I don't think "dead" money is all that dead. It was accepted for the longest time after the introduction of euro, I just don't know what the cutoff date is.
