Big companies file for bankruptcies all the time. Their closing has less to do with the recession and more to do with their failure to remain competitive

It is normally a result of several years of losses, which in this case means, that those companies were losing ground even before the news of recession hit. Companies may have losses during periods of recession, but bankruptcy hits those that are poorly managed.
By the way, K-Mart almost went bankrupt in 2001 but then made a come-back after a restructuring.

Было б у них ТАК плохо и МНОГО лет подряд, как ты говоришь, наверное никто б не удивлялся, правда? А то - ОГО, Медвежьи Звезды продают за бесценок! Никогда б не подумал, да еще о них!!!
Речь о том, что во время рецессии (которой, кстати, "у нас нет" по словам твоего республиканского президента, влить бы ему в задницу галлон бензина по 5 долларов!) ГОРАЗДО БОЛЬШЕЕ количество людей и компаний затягивает ремень и НЕ ПОКУПАЕТ того, что ОБЫЧНО ПОКУПАЛО. Так что не надо блеймать все на плохое управление. Когда хорошие времена, то и банкротств не видно и не слышно. Так может лучше не радоваться одиночным успехам жидомасонского Голдмана и злорадствовать над ВСЕМИ ОСТАЛЬНЫМИ, а сделать что-то, чтоб рецессии не было и Годдман не был бы в гордом одиночестве? Репу почесать хотя бы нашему президенту? А?

Blockbuster has offered $6 to $8 per share in cash for Circuit City, depending on the results of a check of Circuit City's books. The per share offer presents a huge markup from Circuit City's closing stock price and values the company at between $990 million and $1.33 billion, based on the number of outstanding shares of stock Circuit City reported in its most recent quarterly earnings. Merging with Circuit City would create an $18 billion global retail company and substantially improve the financial performance of the two companies, Blockbuster said.
