Пришел отчет из FSA. Я угорел на 2 (два) доллара - на 2008 год поставил к затратам при подписании страховочных документов в октябре прошлого года рассчетные N долларов (где N намного превышает 1000 долларов), а "выбрал" из FSA (N - 2) доллара! И никак уже эти два доллара оттуда не вынуть, не спасти.

Простить себе не могу такой растраты! Наверное не усну сегодня.

Depends on your company's policy.
In a nutshell -
A few years ago, the IRS gave employers the option of granting its FSA holders 2½ more months to spend up their medical accounts. That's coming up on Saturday, March 15.

A quick caveat here. The extension is optional. The IRS says companies can offer it to their workers, but they don't have to. So if you're unsure about whether you have a bit more time to spend up 2007 FSA money, talk to your benefits, payroll or HR manager today.

IRS укакается указывать компаниям как им строить свои личные отношения с работниками. Указано в договоре на FSA, что срок трат с 1 января по 31 декабря - и привет. "Ищи дурака".

You can file a claim till 3/15. As for using, since about 2 years ago, IRS has allowed companies to allow their employees extra time, up to 3 months, I believe, keep using the account after the year closing. So, check with your employers whether you are allowed some extra time to used up FSA.
