Whitlock pitched really well. he isn't soft, just not supposed to pitch that many innings. he had 47 pitches I think - it is too much for a reliever...batters saw his stuff could adjust and the speed and control were dropping...chapman was warming up, he should have come in...
I totally agree about the Yankees. Red Sox are a surprise this season (for many) on how they came together, how the ownership backed the front office to make the right moves... as a Nats fan I am crying. Once the main owner passed, the family thinks it is a social club not a sports operation...we have many young stars but they don't want to pay for really solid talent that we need and we trade all more or less interesting players away so they could play in the playoffs for another team... I don't have enough anger left in me towards the ownership...
